A STORY FROM ONE OF OUR DISTINGUISHED GUESTS

When I first heard of the Cold Sauna I thought who would be crazy enough to do it and how could it be good for you? However, I decided to try it, even while being apprehensive and not wanting to go in just before my first visit. In fact, I almost backed out. My biggest fear was that I wouldn’t be able to breathe at that temperature. Then, I was nervous of being in such cold temperatures with not much more than my bathing suit on.

Eventually, I was fortunate enough to have completed a total of 50 sessions.  At first, I wanted to see if the treatment would help my lower back problem so I completed 10 sessions. I didn’t get any benefit for my back but I noticed I felt pretty good. After I completed my first 10 sessions and about 2 or 3 weeks later, I was in very good spirits and I realized then that I had felt a little depressed when I started my 10 sessions.

But after only a couple of sessions, I started to forget about my depression and by the 10th session I was feeling fantastic. Around this time, I was given a book about the benefits of the Cold Sauna written by a European doctor. I read the book before starting my run of 40 sessions in 2011 and I’m glad I did because I understood the treatment much better and wasn’t afraid of it. It was mentioned in the book that the cold sauna helps treat depression and I can vouch for that. Most of what the doctor explained in the book went over my head but I got the general message. In the book the doctor stated that people with lower back issues needed to take 20 to 25 sessions to get any benefit. In 2011, I decided to try 25 but I was fortunate to be able to do more so I continued. My back feels great and I’m a believer! I highly recommend it.

There are only 86 Cold Saunas in the world and Sparkling Hill Health Resort has the first in North America. In my opinion, it is the most important spa treatment of the over 100 different treatments available at Kurspa at Sparkling Hill. It isn’t a cure for whatever is bothering you, however you could become symptom free and possibly drug free for whatever ails you for 2 months, 6 months or even a year! And, it will probably change your life forever and for the better!
