Job Duties:

  • Greet guests when they arrive at the resort

Chef de Partie

Join the Kitchen team at Sparkling Hill Resort! We currently have an opening available for a hard-working, experienced Chef de Partie. This individual will take on a leadership role for the junior staff in the absence of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, and must be able to handle a line station efficiently and with the highest standards.

Staff accommodation is potentially available on site in double rooms for full time Sparkling Hill employees, working 40 hours per week. If you are selected as a candidate then please inquire during the interview process.

Chef de Partie job duties include:

  • Review the daily production sheets with the Sous Chef & Executive Chef. Prepares and, when required, delegates the production of the necessary food items in accordance with standards in a timely and efficient fashion to ensure that there is no interruption to the guest service
  • Actively participates in training of culinary skills to junior staff and apprentices
  • Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications in order to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met
  • Keeps work station clean and organized including fridges/freezers, counter tops and stove tops
  • Ensures that stations opening and closing procedures are carried out to standard
  • Keeps overproduction and food waste to a minimum, ensures proper rotation, labeling and storing of food in order to reduce food cost expenses
  • Operate all kitchen equipment and conduct them with safety in mind at all times accordance with the hotel and Federal Government Food Safety guidelines
  • Report any and all deficiencies in kitchen equipment functionality and quality of food products to the Sous Chef/ Executive Chef in a timely fashion
  • Prepare lists of food products requires for the stations so the Sous Chef can approve and order
  • Complete other job related duties as assigned by the Sous Chef & Executive Chef

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years cooking experience
  • Experience in a luxury hotel with comparable service and standards an asset
  • Valid Food Handler Certificate required
  • Must have experience and be proficient in both a la carte and production cooking
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

As a KurSpa Practitioner at Sparkling Hill, you will provide guests with relaxation and rejuvenation through our wide range of tension-relieving massages and/or beauty and/or body treatments as per expertise.

Job Duties:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Perform massage and/or beauty and/or body treatments while maintaining the clients comfort at all times
  • Perform 30, 45, 60,75 and 90 minute KurSpa treatments
  • Ensure individualized guest service through acknowledging and responding to their needs and expectations
  • Maintain an ample supply of massage oils, towels, sheets, and other necessary supplies in a neat and orderly fashion within the massage work area
  • Maintain a clean and neat work environment at all times, ensuring all equipment is in safe working order
  • Actively participate in other areas of the Spa Operation such as product knowledge and retail sales
  • Ensure awareness of current trends in body treatments
  • Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way

Duties will include:

  • Perform general clean-up of all facilities.
  • Comply with Health and Safety and WHMIS requirements for Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Respond to guest requests for maintenance in hotel rooms.
  • Collect and dispose of all garbage and recyclables.
  • Clean light fixtures and change light bulbs/tubes.
  • Perform minor repairs on windows, doors, switches, desks, tables, plugs, equipment, appliances, sinks, toilets, blinds etc.
  • Responsible for vandalism clean up and repair, within skill level.
  • Maintain heating and air conditioning systems, thermostats, and other related equipment.
  • Maintain working knowledge of environmental safeguards and alarm systems.
  • Prepare and set up rooms for meetings or various other activities and clean up afterwards.
  • Maintain outside grounds (remove snow, ice, and debris, spray and remove weeds, sweep and clean gutters, water and maintain sprinkling systems).
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those as well as any unusual situations to supervisor.
  • Prepare, paint and decorate interior and exterior surfaces as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Ability to perform small repairs an asset (e.g. caulking, replacing washers, and replacing light fixtures).
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside the organization.
