How long have you been with us at Sparkling Hill?
What is your role and what does a typical day in your role look like?
I’m a server in PeakFine, at the beginning of my shift I make sure my allocated section is properly set up and equipped, then at the pre shift meeting, I find out about what is happening throughout the evening e.g. specials, guest with special requirements. During evening service, I spend my time taking care of guests to the best of my abilities, accommodating any of their needs. At the end of the shift cleaning, resetting and getting the restaurant ready for the next day.
What is your favorite part of your job/what do you find most satisfying?
My work family are my favorite part of this job, the most satisfying part would be tackling and problem solving with them.
Life in General
Tell us about your background. Where are you originally from?
Born and raised in the Okanagan.
What are you passionate about? What motivates you?
I love to introduce guests to food and drinks they haven’t tried, there is nothing more satisfying than a guest that has had a great experience and enjoy them self.
What do you think is the best thing about living in the Okanagan?
In summer, I love the beaches and wine tours, then in winter time, hitting the ski hills.
If you could have any superpower what would it be?
Dimensional storage… Let’s face it, one tiny apron can’t possibly hold all the stuff you need for one shift.
Who has been your hero? Someone that you look up to in life?
My mom, she has always been so supportive and always there for me with advice.
How do you incorporate Health and Wellness into your life?
Fun fact, as I server I do my cardio already at work and as a mother of three there is the rest of my workout. Every now and then you have to squeeze in a little spa day and if pressed for time then some “me” time and wine in the hot tub.
